The subject of risk assessment is now covered in a wide range of regulations. The assessment of working conditions has been firmly established since the restructuring of health and safety regulations with the introduction of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (ArbSchG). Responsibility for assessing risks generally lies with the employer; however, given the complexity of the subject, the detailed planning and assessment in day-to-day working life is usually delegated to specialist staff and experts.
