The combination of heat sources, corrosive conditions and the transmission of electrical energy presents a high risk of fire in electroplating plants. To prevent these undesirable and costly incidents, specialised monitoring systems or the installation of fire detection and suppression systems are recommended; these require careful planning, both for new and existing plants.
